Two of my New Years resolutions are to:
1) Drink more water
2) Limit the use of plastics
Thanks to these BKR bottles, I can tick both those off my list.
Created by Tal Winter and Kate Cutler, two friends from San Francisco, BKR glass bottles look amazing and are better for your health and the environment than plastic.
Studies show that BPA in plastic bottles may mimic hormones and interfere with the endorcrine system, the guys responsible for relasing hormones around the body. I don't know about you, but having kids messed with my hormones enough.
It's cleaner than plastic - the non-porous surface doesn't absorb food and germs and it can be safely washed at high temperatures in your dishwasher. Glass also repels food odors and residual flavors. This keeps the bottle smelling fresh and clean, even after multiple uses. Plastic, on the other hand, can start to smell weird after a while.

'But it's glass, it'll break.' I hear you say. The gorgeous, and recyclable, silicone sleeve protects the bottle from damage.
According to the brand's website, Tal and Kate, 'wanted to create something clean, clear, soft and beautiful that felt like a coutrure accessory and not camping equipment. A product to be loved, not tossed away.'
BKR give a portion of the proceeds from each sale to initiatives that combat the global water crisis – particularly in Africa.
Proceeds from the sale of the yellow bottles are donated to the Canary Foundation, a fantastic organisation that funds groundbreaking research and tests for early cancer detection.
BKR bottles come in three sizes: 250ML, 500ML and 1L and start from £25. Available online at Selfridges.com & Amazon.co.uk
