Love live music and watching your kids have the time of their lives? Then you don't want to miss Boogie Monsters, a live rock band that puts on family shows in and around Surrey.

We were invited to come along to a recent performance and let me tell you, Boogie Monsters put on one heck of a live music show.
Nutfield Village Hall was transformed into the ultimate live disco for under-8's - complete with bubbles, disco lights, scarves, parachutes, inflatables and much more. My little ones, and about 40 other active tots, were dancing around in a frenzy to a selection of chart hits, rocked up nursery rhymes and action songs. I particularly enjoyed their funky remix of Uptown Funk/Walk the Dinosaur and their rockin' rendition of the Bobby Darin classic: Splish Splash.
The hour long concert was fun and interactive and the music was great. It's obvious that Boogie Monsters is made up of highly skilled, professional musicians who love being on stage and performing for the kids.
In between whacking his big bro with a gigantic glow stick, my 22-month old was absolutely mesmerised by the lights and music. Take your average toddler music class dial it up by 100 and you're still not even close to the energy and excitement that filled the room.

Founded by Redhill resident, professional musician and mum of two, Kelly Smith, the Boogie Monsters crew are hoping that by giving children the opportunity to hear and see live music being played on REAL instruments by REAL musicians they might be inspired to try out a musical instrument themselves one day.

You can check them out live this weekend at Vale Primary School in Epsom. Full band complete with electric guitars, keyboard and drum kit. Be prepared to purchase a (reasonably priced) inflatable guitar, glow stick, flashing wand or all three. And maybe something for the kids too.
The fun starts at 2pm. £6 per person (adults and children) and £21 for a Family Ticket (4 people). Babies under the age of one go free. You can purchase tickets direct from the Boogie Monsters website.
